Hide Park.

Every Monday, when i come back from uni,i find Al-Madina Newspaper at the door step. it brings news about everything that takes place in the "city" of Amman in general from local news and events to sports to advertisments to history of some Jordanian families and extends a bit to some news around the world.I always enjoy reading it while eating lunch and watching T.V.


I always keep an eye on a section called (Hide Park)...the writer,Awni Aldawoud, writes about general facts that are happening in Jordan and around the world in General,he critisises local and global issues (which,sorry to say are happening,for one reason or another,although they shouldn't be happening) in a very polite,funny and sarcastic way.i like this part.he writes in three columns.


His last column,however, is dedicated to make fun and criticise women in society! forget about politness here! every week he tells four stories about four different women with their husbends,and all of them end in divorce,becoz husbends couldn't stand their wive's lack of good judgment and rational thinking!.



Mr.Aldawoud says that his writings are true events,that really happened with some husbends! And the blames of all the problems that can occure in a family pours on the wife,forggeting the fact that in a family there is also a father who should have a positive role in it,not only as a terrifying monster to scare the kids.


He writes the stories in "street language" mode,and likes so much to put the events in a way that shows a woman that she has a very immature mind and very tight and superficial thinking.i think he is giving a very wrong image about women in the country.He said once that he got hundreds of E-mails from women complaining about his writings.i say that he's trying to send a message saying:"don't listen to women,don't ask them their opinions(i.e don't bother),they should only care about cooking,cleaning the house,and have kids.they don't know anything else,so it's no good comunicating with them!".


He could very nicely talk about millions of women who educate themselves, sacrifice their lives for their families,and suffer maltreatment from their husbends just to keep the family together.Women who give up their jobs to stay with kids,raise them and be there for them,who risk to have no job,no salary and be under their husbends mercy,and lots of the them turn to have no mercy.


i'm not femenist,but i hate it when the strong is "showing his power and muscles" on the weak.and in weak here,i mean physically and socially.

But i won't stay quite about it,i'll send Mr.Awni a very nice E-mail,telling him my opinion.
